The 1972 Munich Olympic Games were supposed to be The Games of Peace and Joy, intend to showcase Germanys post-war rehabilitation from the horrors of the Nazi regime and to swear egress erase memories of the 1936 Berlin Olympics which promoted Nazi ideology.
