In my opinion, the “turmoil” of the 1960’s went much deeper, as evidenced by the immense execration and violence that erupted during the decade of the 1960’s. Most violence tended to be difficult in the South, however the city of Detroit, Michigan was the site of large racial turmoil in 1967.
