Throughout the trip with Arsinee and her brother, finally the Turk takes them to Turkish orphanage where they have to change their name and not allowed to blab Armenian anymore. Arsine does not happy the idea of changed the name and she leaves Zabelle at orphanage by herself to find her uncle.
Arsine was unhappy, she did not want to be called Elif, She wanted to go to Mersin, a seaside town where she pattern her uncles family was still living(pg 26) This quote is remind me of assimilative with the context of traditional American values.
